Reaves B.S.,B.Sc.,L.ExPh,ATC,MFT
Fitness Manager
Philosophy-
Back in 2002, I was severally injured having been shot in the L-3 vertebrae. Suffering massive blood loss and paralysis from my Mid-Torso down through my lower extremities, I was told I would never walk again. Having a wealth of knowledge and experience in Health and Fitness, I did most of my rehabilitation, and after only 1 year, I was able to walk again and have relative normal body functional movement and return to work... However, in the last 2 years I have been suffering from Chronic LBP, and having other issues due to my past injuries. My nutrition was mostly spot on except I was in taking complex carbohydrates, and non-free range meats full of Gluten, and I thought I was doing all the right things to aid in my troubles. Little did I know that all of my years of College and multitude of Certifications meant absolutely nothing compared to Paleo Nutrition and CrossFit training. Because of "CROSSFIT", I have been pain free for over a year now, obtained the CrossFit Nutrition Cert, am working towards my Level 1 Cert and Olympic Cert, as well as following the Gluten Free Paleo plan. I am now Cross Fitting 4 times per week and eating prescribed Paleo! Not to mention performing handstands and Dead lifting 385lbs!
Change can happen at any time
How well your prepared for it, depends on your level of success!

Philosophy-
I believe that functional and specific training go hand-in-hand to create fitness, through a combination of cardiovascular exercise, resistance training, and developing balance and agility. I truly believe that setting fitness goals and achieving them is possible for anyone, no matter how lofty the goal. Through hard work, dedication, and patience, I believe anyone has the ability to do great things. I teach people exercises and movements that will help them be successful in their daily lives. I like to keep people dedicated to their goals and driven to achieve them by showing them the small achievements they are making along the way and by helping them see the difference that fitness and nutrition make in their lives everyday.

Dean Artis, B.A., A.C.E.-CPT, YMCA-CPT, APEX
Certified Personal Trainer
Philosophy-
My philosophy begins with total fitness. The human body is an amazing and complex machine, and requires a variety of training approaches for it to function optimally. Fitness is not just a slim waist and toned muscles, it is a strong and healthy heart and lungs, flexible muscles that allow full and stable range of motion, muscular strength to cope with heavy loads, core stability of the stomach and back to ensure good posture and alignment, speed, agility and balance to get the most out of life. Total fitness also includes proper food intake and supplementation and a sound mind. Neglect of any single aspect of total fitness and you will sabotage your goals!
The body becomes accustomed to the same resistance or length of time you perform an exercise or its intensity. So you need to keep pushing the body to progressively higher levels of resistance, duration and intensity. Most people who train without the benefits of a personal trainer/coach will approach their workouts in a haphazard way, unplanned, with mostly guesswork as to the correct resistance, duration and intensity of their workouts. They either over do it and injure themselves, or dont workout hard enough and make little or no progress. I will recommend an effective plan uniquely designed for you, and motivate you to stick to it!

Philosophy-
I have the training and experience to lead anyone to their fitness goals, whether you are training to improve your quality of life or to increase performance in a specific sport. Everyone should have a fitness assessment prior to an exercise program. The assessment will determine the optimal starting point for your program and is a great tool to measure the gains you have made during you program. When you are able to quantify the improvements you have made this will motivate you to continue to set and reach loftier goals. Your training should continually progress eventually landing you in the free weight area. Nothing burns calories like resistance training both during the work out and during the recovery days that follow. Additionally, itΥs my goal to educate you on fitness, I will explain what and why we are doing certain exercises, the effects and why it is beneficial for the body. Your body will thank you each and every day by feeling better with a tremendous amount of energy.

Chuck Carone, N.A.S.M.-CPT
Certified Personal Trainer
Philosophy-
I believe a trainer's job is more than to just instruct their clients on proper body alignment, nutrition, and the correct use of equipment. A trainer should be a life coach; someone who cares about the whole person, not just their physical body. As a Trainer, I try to understand my client's lifestyle; their likes, dislikes, their background, and their goals. I then model their training with those elements in mind. My goal is to first understand, then teach, inspire, and motivate. My background as a coach has taught me that lasting change does not come when you tell a person what to do, but only when you teach them how to do it. My goal, during the time I spend with my clients, is to design a program that they can enjoy and teach them how to take positive steps towards lasting changes; to teach them life skills that will last a life time...
